BIG RIVER

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Twain's timeless classic sweeps us down the mighty Mississippi as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend Jim escape to freedom.  Their adventures along the way are hilarious, suspenseful, moving and heartwarming, bringing to life your favorite characters from the novel including the Widow Douglas and her stern sister, Miss Watson, the uproarious King and Duke, Huck's partner in crime, Tom Sawyer, and their rowdy gang of pals.  Propelled by a Tony award winning score from Roger Miller, the king of country music, this jaunty journey provides a brilliantly theatrical celebration of pure Americana. The story of their journey downstream captures the rhythms, sounds and spirit of life on the mighty Mississippi.  The musical numbers include "Waiting for the Light to Shine", "When the Sun Goes Down in the South", "River in the Rain" and "Free at Last".  Performers cast in this production will get the chance to work with some of the most talented professional actors in San Diego and CYC Theatre's best Associate Artists, including John Procopio, Dirk Stenger and Austyn Myers.
